Andy Baio : Search terms replacing URLs in Japanese advertising - I'd love to hear more about Japanese search spam
Richard Rutter : Japan: URL\’s Are Totally Out - Cabel notes that search terms are in, instead.
gleuschk : cabel.name: Japan: URL's Are Totally Out - I noticed the same thing. Also, there are 30-sec English lessons on screens in the subway cars!

plasticbag : My article from a few years ago on developing a URL structure for broadcast radio sites... - Radio 3 was supposed to be the model for a reinvigoration and restructuring of the whole URL space and programme represenation at the BBC, but I hear it got rather screwed up by the iPlayer and similar follies...

plasticbag : Interesting post on URLs over on jerakeen.org, which I think misses the point a bit - It's easier if you think of URLs in two types - either referring to a specific first order data object (in which case it doesn't need much nesting) and then lists, where the cuts and stuff make much more sense. Calcify the common paths, leave the rest.

Linkorama : ElfURL - Basically I suggested that it would be helpful to have a tool to make long URLs shorter, while at the same time providing a way to apply delicious tags, while at the same time adding statistics on the number of times the URL was accessed, and while having
