philgyford : YouTube - The T-Mobile Dance - An IprovEverywhere type stunt as an advert but very nicely done. I love how the participants only gradually join in. (via Preoccupations)

philgyford : YouTube - Orangina Naturally Juicy French version - I've seen this ad at the cinema in Paris and it doesn't make me want to drink Orangina. It makes me want to never go to the countryside again.

philgyford : YouTube - Sony Bravia LCD TV Advert (Play Doh) & "The Making of" - A TV ad with stop-motion rabbits (which I hadn't seen until now) followed by a little making of doc. Amazing amounts of coordination to get it all done. (via Ted Mills)

plasticbag : Entertaining video parodying the Feist 1234 iPod advert... - Both good for its mockery of Apple for being fashionistas and PCs for... well, not being fashionistas. Equal mockery for all.

plasticbag : The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is looking for a Sr. Interaction Designer - You have to be a temple-worthy church going and have five years web experience. That might be limiting the field a bit, so I thought I'd give them a hand. Thanks to Matt Jones for showing me the path.

plasticbag : E4's running a parody of The Sopranos credits sequence and YouTube has it - Probably won't make much sense to people outside of the UK. Love the Wicker Man joke. Also Scunthorpe.

plasticbag : Coca-Cola in China is doing a joint promotion with World of Warcraft, and Google Video has a no-doubt illicit copy of it... - It's a bloody entertaining thirty seconds. I always wonder about the UK and why they don't seem to do these things. I suspect it's because they just don't believe these games can have widespread appeal. Not sure...

Eric Meyer : Sony BRAVIA - The Advert - Remember all those Flickr pictures of a quarter-million superballs let loose on a San Francisco street? Now you can see it in glorious H.264 high resolution (and check those file sizes--sweet!).
philgyford : Sony Bravia - The Advert - I know it's been everywhere. But it's still one of the most beautiful things ever, even if it is an advert.

jkottke : On the art of the movie trailer - "There are few more cynical forms of art, or of advertising. Trailers are full of deception. Because what they want you to do is to see the movie they want you to see, not the movie that it is."
plasticbag : To cut a long story short - a Guardian feature about the cynicism of trailers and how comfortable they are lying about the films they represent - Not sure I agree with all of it - a trailer that effectively sells a film but portrays it incorrectly, can bring the wrong audiences or spoil the film for the right audiencs. This affects word-of-mouth. Film flops.

plasticbag : Winners of the "I Look Like My Dog" Contest - There's not an awful lot more you can say about this. They do indeed look like their dogs. In turn I think I'm started to look more like my Powerbook.
