deusx : Mac OS X Manual Page For hdiutil(1) - "Device Not Configured ... DO doesn't work under dead mach bootstrap contexts such as exist in a reattached screen(1) session." So... don't try to run scripts that use hdiutil to mount DMGs from a reattached screen session. Doh.
