philgyford : Postcard from Provence ◊ a painting a day ◊ a daily painting blog - He paints a painting every day and then auctions it. Lovely paintings. Something like this has been my exit strategy for a while (assuming I found time to improve at painting/drawing/etc). (via Textism)

plasticbag : I love the insane way this diagram of 'The Universal System' manages to completely denaturalise women, gay people, atheists and any non-American! - It's from Milton R Cudney's "Eliminating Self-Defeating Behaviors" (apparently published in Michigan in 1975 by Life Giving Enterprises). This sense of what is natural and ordered basically fucks us all.

plasticbag : Bizarre Museum of Ice to be printed out 3D printer style using large robotic cutters and lengths of wood - The end result will be... I don't know how to describe it. I think I'd have to see it to get a sense of whether it's a gigantic folly or something organic and beautiful.

plasticbag : If you could do anything tomorrow, what would it be? - Fascinating little design experiment that asks illustrators how they'd respond to such a question, and then collates and publishes their illustrations in a serial publication. I've bought a couple of their prints recently.

plasticbag : Linzie Hunter's spam one-liners are just extraordinarily good. She takes spam subject lines and turns them into typographic art. - They're really lovely. She made some Moo cards with them and they looked awesome and I'm wondering if the Moo crew should try and bring her on as one of their regular designers.
