philgyford : The Orwell Prize - George Orwell's diaries daily, Pepys style. Lacking the year on each entry -- too much '2008' very little '1938' around. Quite a random linking strategy in entries, but it's early days.

Andy Baio : Waxy.org Redesigns - For the first time since I started blogging in 2002, I've redesigned Waxy.org. Over the last six years, I've grown pretty sick of the old design but never found the time to rework it. Mostly, the changes are cosmetic. Cleaner design, new logo, bigger t
plasticbag : Andy Baio has redesigned Waxy.org and it looks pretty great. - At some point when the current lunacy is over and my teeth are fixed, I have an apartment, Fire Eagle is completely launched, my taxes are done and Web 2.0 Expo and Where 2.0 are over I shall redesign too.

plasticbag : Spotted by Dan Hill of cityofsound.com, After Our Time is a blog that responds to and comments upon BBC Radio 4's awesome "In Our Time" - I was introduced to 'In Our Time' by Mr Webb and it was the first show that he managed to get out of the door in a podcast format. It was also the one that I was most interested in being annotated. Nice to see it happening.

nelson : Joel hates blog comments - I mostly agree with what he's saying
plasticbag : Joel Spolsky talks about the lack of value that anonymous comments (or maybe comments in general) offer the blogger - Allowing people to post without registering has been considered insane for online communities for a decade at least, and I've argued that comments are unnecessary because people can post on their own sites. But I'm not sure I'd go as far as Joel...

plasticbag : My lovely colleague Simon Willison has gone and finally relaunched his weblog in Django - I know weblog redesign posts are a bit 1999 but still, it's really clear and well organised with a range of innovative little UI and archiving touches. Worth a look.
Rod Begbie : Finally powered by Django - Simon Willison's shifted his blog onto a Django-based platform. I think I might have a crack at this myself -- The limitations of MovableType (not least the fact that I don't know Perl terribly well) keep biting me these days. Could be fun to roll-my-ow #
